Trip Overview

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime with the Annapurna Circuit Trek (ACT), an iconic journey through the stunning landscapes of Gandaki Province, Nepal. Renowned as one of the most diverse and scenic treks in the world, the ACT takes trekkers on an exhilarating circuit around the Annapurna Massif, offering a kaleidoscope of landscapes, cultures, and experiences.

The ACT typically begins in the bustling lakeside city of Pokhara and winds through lush subtropical forests, charming villages, and terraced fields that showcase traditional Nepali agriculture. As trekkers ascend, the scenery transitions into alpine meadows, rugged valleys, and dramatic cliffs, with breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machapuchare, and other towering peaks.

One of the highlights of the ACT is crossing the Thorong La Pass at an altitude of 5,416 meters (17,769 feet), a challenging yet rewarding feat that offers panoramic vistas of the Himalayas. Along the way, trekkers encounter diverse ethnic communities such as Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi, each with their own unique cultures, traditions, and warm hospitality. Whether you’re a seasoned trekker seeking adventure or a nature enthusiast longing to witness Nepal’s natural beauty up close, the Annapurna Circuit Trek promises an unforgettable journey through some of the most spectacular scenery on Earth.

Frequently Asked Question

Who will be there with me to do the trek?

This is a social trip, so trekkers from around the world may join, bringing together strangers with a shared interest in adventure. These like-minded individuals come together on this journey to achieve their goals collectively.

Do I need a tourist visa while travelling to Nepal?

Yes, you need a tourist visa while travelling here to Nepal. You can get it on arrival or complete the process online (Link: https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/on-arrival/IO01) to avoid some queuing upon your arrival.

What is the required fitness level to complete the trek?

This trek is suitable for fit, experienced hikers, but trekking above 3,000 meters is more demanding than at lower elevations. Training beforehand is advised, including a weekend of back-to-back walking days. The guide will set a slow pace to help with altitude adjustment. Although it is considered moderate and doesn't involve technical climbing, trekkers will still face challenges navigating steep hills and rugged terrain with sharp rocks and boulders. The Thorong La Pass is particularly challenging due to its altitude and low barometric pressure.

What type of food will be available during the trek? Where am I supposed to eat?

During the trek, we will stay in a basic tea house so don’t expect the variety of menu. All places menu will be similar where you will have the following options: Breakfast: Chapati, Boiled egg, Tea/Coffee, Bread, Porridge Lunch: Dal-Bhat Snacks: Tea/Coffee, Noodle Soup, Corn Dinner: Dal-Bhat, Pasta, Noodles, Spageti, Momo (few places only)
