Trip Overview

Annapurna Base Camp trekking is one of the famous treks around Annapurna region which is also known as Annapurna Sanctuary. This trek takes you to Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill, and offers the most beautiful sceneries imaginable – the mountains, the settlements of the Gurungs, and stunning rhododendron forests. The Ghorepani Poon Hill (3,210m) lies below the Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri Himalaya range provides the best panoramic view of Poon Hill and Annapurna base Camp(4320m). Annapurna Base Camp trekking will give you beautiful views of Himalaya range including Machapuchhare (6,993m), Mt. Annapurna II (7,939m), Mt. Annapurna III (7,555m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7,525m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6,986m), and Mt. Hiuchuli (6,441m). Natural hot springs are yet another attraction on this route.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. Explore Thamel, a vibrant area with shops and restaurants. Briefing about the trek, gear check, and final preparations. Welcome dinner in the evening.
Day 2

Kathmandu sightseeing

Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Boudhanath Stupa: A significant Buddhist site. Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple): Offers panoramic views of Kathmandu and is an iconic spiritual site. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3

Fly to Pokhara

Fly to Pokhara in the morning (about 25 minutes flight). Explore the scenic Phewa Lake and the surrounding lakeside area. Final trekking preparations in Pokhara.
Day 4

Drive to Tikhedhunga & Trek to Ghorepani

  • Drive from Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (around 1.5-2 hours).
  • Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (approx. 4-5 hours).
  • Stay overnight in Ghorepani, a popular village offering great views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
Day 5

Early Morning Hike to Poonhill & Trek to Chuile via Tadapani

  • Early morning hike to Poonhill (3,210 meters) for a breathtaking sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
  • Afterward, trek to Chuile via Tadapani, enjoying the beautiful rhododendron forests and scenic mountain views.
  • Overnight in Chuile.
Day 6

Trek from Chuile to Sinwa

  • Trek from Chuile to Sinwa (around 5-6 hours), passing through picturesque landscapes and small villages.
  • Overnight in Sinwa.
Day 7

Trek from Sinwa to Deurali

  • Trek from Sinwa to Deurali (about 5-6 hours).
  • Deurali is the last major stop before Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), with a cold and high-altitude climate.
  • Overnight in Deurali.
Day 8

Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp

  • Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 meters) (approximately 4-5 hours).
  • Reach Annapurna Base Camp, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and other majestic peaks.
  • Overnight at ABC.
Day 9

Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan

  • Early morning views of the surrounding mountains, then descend from ABC to Dovan (about 5-6 hours).
  • Overnight in Dovan.
Day 10

Trek from Dovan to Chomrong

  • Trek from Dovan to Chomrong (around 4-5 hours).
  • Chomrong is a charming village with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
  • Overnight in Chomrong.
Day 11

Trek from Chomrong to Pokhara (via Jhinu)

  • Trek from Chomrong to Jhinu, enjoy a relaxing dip in the natural hot springs.
  • Drive from Jhinu to Pokhara (around 2-3 hours).
  • Arrive in Pokhara and relax.
Day 12

Pokhara Sightseeing & Farewell Dinner

  • Explore more of Pokhara, including:
    • Devi’s Fall
    • Gupteshwor Cave
    • World Peace Pagoda
  • Farewell dinner with the group to celebrate the trek.
Day 13

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

  • Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist vehicle (about 6-7 hours).
  • Arrival in Kathmandu, enjoy some final sightseeing or shopping.
Day 14

Departure from Kathmandu

  • Depending on your flight time, you can explore more of Kathmandu or relax before your flight.
  • Depart from Kathmandu for your flight home.
